Hi, I’m Carla, the maker, designer and chief chaos coordinator behind Carla Jade Designs.

I’m Australian-born and now based in Calgary, Alberta, where Carla Jade Designs has grown from handmade earrings and beaded pieces into a colourful little world of accessories, stickers, hoodies and designs with plenty of personality.

How It Started

Carla Jade Designs started with a love of making things by hand and creating pieces that feel fun, personal and easy to actually wear. I still make my handmade accessories in small batches, choosing the colours, beads, charms and details myself so each collection feels a little different.

Over time, the brand has grown alongside me. These days you’ll also find stickers, hoodies and designs inspired by the things I love, including a healthy dose of Aussie slang and humour from home.

Made in Calgary, With an Aussie Accent

Calgary is where I create, pack orders and head out to local markets, but Australia will always sneak into the designs somehow. Sometimes it’s a phrase. Sometimes it’s the sense of humour. Sometimes it’s just the urge to put something delightfully ridiculous on a sticker.

That mix is really what Carla Jade Designs is about: colourful, playful things that feel like they have a person behind them, because they do.

Meet the Team

Technically, Carla Jade Designs is a one-woman business. In practice, I have Riggins, my four-legged studio supervisor, morale officer and very unreliable quality-control department. He takes his role extremely seriously whenever snacks are involved.
